So I started this thread because I keep seeing those questions of what the difference is between the Rubik's and Studio cubes.

First of all the 3x3x3's are totally different from eachother, the Studio ones are made in Hungary, the plastic is softer then the Rubiks.com cubes and the kernel is straight so the cube pops very easily.

For the big cubes there is totally NO difference between them, the cubes are produced in the same factory and I know, because I live in the same house where the Cube Doctor lives. :D <-- He has all the information.

For the prices I will quote myself from another post: ''Well the 3x3x3's are much more expensive because there are only 1000 produced per month(I am not sure how much, but not more).

For the big cubes:
China --> Hungary --> China

So if you order at Cubeforyou you are actually ripping yourself off, you can order the 5x5x5's for ±25 dollar from Olivér Nagy.''

i got the Rubiks.com version for Xmas and since i didn't know any better i thought that must be the best cube ever produced.

well just last week i managed to get my hands on one of those Studio ones - wow, what a difference - just amazing, it just turns by itself.
you can even force the corner to twist in its place (this is quite useful when solving last layer corner orientation :D )

the Xmas one is now permanently back in the box.

i never tried any of the DIY cubes.

@Lotsofsloths: Well DIY is much better then Studio, I think more you don´t have to know. ;)

@Pete: Are you talking about the 3x3x3, 4x4x4 or 5x5x5?
If you are talking about the big cubes, well then I have to disappoint you but Rubik's are selling the new type of big cubes too. The 5x5x5 has a new (like the storebought 3x3x3's) logo on it.

The new 5x5x5's from the new mold has the same logo as the 2x2x2.^^

Wow! Is shipping less than $25?
Then I could buy a 5x5x5 for the -25 dollar option and have it shipped to me with extra money in the package. :p

Sorry I don't do maths, furthermore no comments. ;)

Nah seriously, I mean that you can buy the Studio 5x5x5's for around 25 dollars.
